Hi,
I want to play, maybe also edit, 4K on my older PC.
-CPU i7 4820K CPU 3,70 GHz
-MB ASUS P9X79 Deluxe
-GPU Nvidia Geforce 210
-RAM 16 GB HyperX
I have replaced the GPU with a MSI Geforce GTX 1060, hoping that that would be enough. If I watch specs on the internet, it should be OK, but I get a black screen (with sound!) when I play 10bit or 8bit, 3840*2160 or 4096*2160, 29.97 fps MOV files, total bitrate 150Mb,from my Panasonic GH5. It does this in several video players, such as 5Kplayer, quicktime and also within videoeditors. Video plays with sound but black screen. Also thumbnails in Windows Explorer don't show preview. I am running Windows 10. Is there anything that I could do or check before I invest in more hardware?
Thanks,
Rob
