i got a 19" widescreen LCD which is much better than my tube tv. and i'm eventually going to get a PS3, so how do i go about playing my PS2 and my future PS3 on my PC monitor? what parts do i need and everything? thanks in advance :)

For the PS2, I think you'd need a TV tuner PCI card. For the PS3, you can use a HDMI to DVI adapter.

that's what i was thinkin. about the PS2 at least. i got the tuner card, and software is installed, but says 'device not found' and i cant get any tv or anything. ran the cable cord to it, and tried hooking up the PS2 to it. just a cheap card? or not compatible with my mobo maybe?

The device doesn't show up in the device manager? Is that what you mean? Which OS are you using? Did you install the correct drivers?

windows XP. and yeah on the drivers. straight off the CD. when i start the computer, a window pops up that says 'device not found'. i can open the program with it...but when i try to set the reception to 'cable' it goes right back to antenna and i get no picture.

uhhh... i forget to be honest. nothin too expensive cuz i didnt wanna spend a ton on one at first. think it might be just some generic one. the box is layin around here somewhere. thought it should at least work...but this is what i read somewhere else:

The ps3 will be no problem....But now for the ps2 your kinda out of luck

Reason being you will need a capture card, and a good one at that. Tha main problem with them is there low real time video qualty, als there real time video delay. There will be a slight lag between your controller repsocne and the screen responce. I treid playing socom with my ADS pro, a very nice capture box, and it was almost imposible to shoot cause i would aim and it wouldent move till a split second later, it got very anoying. So basicaly you can try it, im sure it varys from pc and capture card but even when i had all high end stuff it wasent the best.....But hell the PS3 will look steller!

Yeah, I agree. I've never hooked up a console to my Win-TV 500 capture card, but, I wouldn't expect it to perform well. Is there, like, an Input-1 setting when you look through the channels available?

Hello,
Very sorry to have to resurrect this, but I was wondering if you ever purchased this item then tried to use your PS2 with it? I also would like to play my PS2 on my LCD monitor, so just curious if you had any luck with it, and if you encountered that split second delay you were talking about earlier..

I'm not that great with these different video format things, so bear with me...
