just stumbled across this, looks pretty sweet, even if it is 6 year old news. it burns dvd's and was actually the first sony console to use the XMB style. i looked through the websites in the references and they were all in japanese=p, but from what i can make out of it, it came with either a 160gb or 250gb hdd, hmmm, sounds like a pre ps3

This actually came out? I was unaware of something like this ever coming out. I never even heard of the idea of a dvr from playstation. :p
 
I've heard of this, but only because I had a nightmare getting PSX (the emulator) working when I tried getting ff8 to work on it when my PS2 died, google searches lead to a couple pages about the playstation x. I am actually quite dissapointed that it didn't come out outside Asia to be honest, I mean it looks like it could have been well good
 
Many strange and wonderful things are released in Japan and never make it out of there alive...
