hi. my friend is getting this laptop. the main specs are below:
Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.4ghz
4gb of DDR 2 RAM @ 800 MHz
NVIDIA GeForce G 105M 512mb
320gb hdd
14.1" display at 1280 x 800
he would be doing mainly photoshop and maybe some 3D stuff later on. would like to know if this laptop would be able to do a decent job. thanks :)
 
i like it. i have a Toshiba 2 gig and works fine. Photoshop and other software. use for credit cards and straight shooter. one thing though comes to mind. the size of the screen for editing. mine is a 17" and works well. butt nothing portable about it. ya need a suit case to lug this sucker around. (heavy). time and a place for portable though.

Spec's (RAM, CPU etc.) wise it will be good for photoshop. Only thing I would say is screen size. When it comes to editing pictures the bigger the better.

I personally think that 15.4" is perfect compromise for a laptop, 17" is waaay to big, but 14.1" maybe a tad too small. Having said that I would go for a 14.1" over a 17" any day.
Maybe get the smaller screen for portability and get a second, larger screen for where you friend does most of his/her photoshop-ing?

for photo shop and 3D stuff go for the 17 inch screen way better
