Please Explain Why?

maybe one of those overpriced workstation cards. i've never known why those tend to be much more expensive. maybe they have features that are more for workstation stuff like quad monitors or the like.

ahh ok im just wondering i saw some one there one time for like 300 bux im like why get that when you could get a better one lol.

yeah its one of those workstation cards... they are not good for games I think,, at least not as good as the gaming ones.

the improvement is (I think) they work with open GL and not with directX and somehow this is better to work faster with certain programs like 3dsmax, avid, autocad etc. (realtime only,, not for rendering or anything)

Workstation cards optimised for running Open GL graphics & light calculations they run faster when just moving plain looking 3D around all that matters for 3D work is that you get high performance in plain shaded 3D with no textures. Their not fully featured for running Direct X computer games. With 3D software the high detail textures and real light rendering are done by the software, ram and CPU not the graphics card, alot diferent to how games run graphics.
