please guide me

For gaming? Currently, the C2D. For the future, the Phenom. If you're planning on using the computer with either CPU for a few years, I'd probably but my money on the Phenom, but if you're the type that upgrades every year or so, the C2D will seve you better. Of course, a lot depends on the price - out of those, I'd pick the Phenom simply because it's a quad-core, but without knowing the prices we can't really tell which one of those would offer better performance for value.

EDIT: Did you post a similar question already or am I having a deja vu...?

u r not having deja vu, just now my explorer got prob so accifently loaded twice for the same post with different title. sorry

for C2D the price is around 390 and the phenom is around 550, im the 2nd type of person so im not going to upgrade my pc again for few years.
for my situation now which one is more recommended?
if comparing from brand, AMD or intel has the better performance for same spec like if both are quad core?

p/s: all prices are in Ringgit Malaysia currency.

from my experience the core 2 duo performs better, but generally speaking the phenom will last you longer... the motherboard especially. why? because FSB bottlenecks quad core processors and AMD doesn't use FSB they use Hypertransport.

in my situation .. my motherboard won't support intel's 45nm processors because the fsb on their motherboards went from 800/1066 to 1066/1333 or 1333/1600mhz.

Hypertransport allows their motherboards to be highly upgradable... because an AM2 motherboard supports all of the AM2+ processors at the motherboards hypertransport speed... which won't bottleneck the processor.

a lot of question mark floating on my head. cant really understand it. im noob in pc field >.<" do u mind explaining it more detail?

personally i'd get a core 2 quad. its really just personal preference.

i build all AMD stuff for my family because they're all about budget builds and making it upgradeable but for me i go with intel because their processors are faster per mhz and they're more overclockable too.

Intel quads are better, though they aren't better by far, Phenoms have improved a fair bit since their release. The real handicap of Phenoms is their unability to clock high, since the clock-for-clock performance of new C2Qs & Phenoms is about the same (even though C2Q wins, not by far).

well another question, is the 7200 going to work well with the HD 4850 graphic card?
Yes. A GPU doesn't have to be compatible with a CPU, as long as you have a PCI-E slot (which you do have in pretty much any mobo manufactured during the last 2 years) you should be good. A great choice on the card BTW, you won't regret it ;)!

from my experience its always better to spend more on your graphics card for gaming. an e7200 is great, and a phenom quad core 2.2ghz is great, but dual 4870's would be even better.

and more ram. always more ram. lol make sure you load it up with 4gb so it lasts you awhile.
