A very unpleasant problem to have. So i've bought a 4gb USB stick for a great price (not a brand name though)

and i cannot safely eject it from my computer, i get the following error:

Cannot Eject Volume
An error was encountered trying to eject 'Removable Disk (H:)'

i appreaciate any help-- i cannot save any images or texts on this usb, the data gets lost due to me having to just yank it out instead of safely ejecting it. thank you

You don't have to 'safely eject' it, that's just a safety feature. This fact means that your 'great priced no-name-brand' USB drive is a piece of trash.

Try formatting the USB stick. Though, I've never had problems with just pulling out (eh...umm...;)) Did it come with an install CD or are you able to install any thing manually via Windows Update or through Hardware Manager?

The OP came here with a legit problem. If you're not going to help, don't berate.

lmao i agree that it might be a piece of trash

no install CD, and i cant update it either - if i just pull it out then image and text data is lost
