Please Help! Is this computer good?

I am looking at getting a new basic desktop from Dell. They have a basic one for $299.

Here it is: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DB110A&s=dhs

It has...

-2.53GHz Intel Celeron D, 533 FSB
-256 MB DDR SDRAM @ 400 Mhz. of RAM (upgradeable to 512 MB)
-80 GB Ultra ATA/100 7200 RPM hard drive
-6 high speed 2.0 USB ports
-XP home
-Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video card intergrated into the mother board with 32 MB of virtial memory (upgradeable to 64 MB).

I have my own external DVD writer.

I understand that this computer is basic. And thats all I need. I am going to use if for general Internet surfing and movie and music downloading. I have a 792k cable Internet connection. I am also going to play some basic games online with it. Games like Unreal Toruminent 2 and StarCraft. Like I said I am not looking to do any hardcore gaming just light level stuff. I am wondering if this computer will work for what I am looking to use it for? I know the Celeron processor is not the best processor for gaming but will it work for the lower level games that I am playing?

Also it says that the memory is at 400 MHz. What does that mean? And it says 533 FSB. What is that and what does it mean?

Well I was just looking for something cheep. Does anyone else make a computer around the $300 price range? I know its not much to work with. :(

That is pertty good for the price, but if you go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City, you can find computers similarly priced. That way you dont have to pay for shipping, you can see the computers right in front you, and it's an easier return process.

However if you do decide to go with that Dell, rest assured that it's a decent computer that will perform all your basic needs. And Dell's are nice computers, there not crap.

Is the 512 MB of RAM tha inportant?
256MB is on the very low side, if you want to have multiple programs open at once without as much of a slowdown, then deffinetly get 512MB.

Realy? hmmm... The computer I have now is only 833 MHz. and has 128 MB of RAM and it is not too bad. FOr surfing the net anyway. For movie playback it could be better. And it kinda sucks for gaming. :(
