Please help me choose a video card

ok so ive bought a vostro 200 with the duo core 1.6 ghz (e2140) and i need a video card so i may turn to ebay, i heard that there are basically only two types of video cards that will work, the geforce 8600 gt with 256 ddr3 and the radeon hd2600 512 ddr2, But which one would be better, o you can also get the geforece 8600 gt with 512 ddr2.

(PCI Express)

-Geforce 8600 GT 512 mb ddr2
-ATI 2600 XT ( i think, not sure) 512 mb ddr2
-Geforce 8600 GT 256 mb ddr3

Is there better cards out there that will work with my system?

Oh I'm sorry, so it's all because of the size of the case... Then I would say the HD2600XT performs better. But make sure first if the HD3850 really does not fit because the 3850 would be the better choice.
 
well yes but its double the price
so youre saying to get the ddr2 512 mb ati but its ddr2 its slower

ok i failed to mention i dont do heavey pc gaming i have an xbox 360 so all i want is a mediocre video card to run vista better than onboard and run prostreet

this is retarded there a million differnt knock off brands wtf gigabite makes an ati card? im trying to use toms hardware video card charts and nothing matches up i just want to know which card to buy the geforce or radeon but it turns out the radeon has a 256 mb ddr3 version 2600 xt as well but which ones better would either of these play prostreet?


o ive also found out that the psu may not power higher end video cards
