These are my parts. After hooking up everything, checking everything, computer wouldn't start. I can't even turn it on. Is it that MOBO went out? I have a green light for the mobo and orange light for the ethernet light when I turn on the psu power. Please help me.

I had the same problem all day today.
I have a 24 pin mobo and a 20+4 pin psu.
I had connected all the 24 pins from my psu to my mobo.
It wouldn't start,
I then took out the +4 pins and now it works

Also make sure that the Power SW (switch) is connected
peace

i tried to take out 4 pins but it does the same thing. When I press on the power button, the system powers up for like a second and turns back off.

one more thing. When I plug every external parts (key board, mouse, ethernet line, etc) and turn on the psu switch, the mouse red light comes on (it is a dell optic mouse), ethernet orange light comes on,green light for mother board comes on. If I hold on the power switch for few seconds, the system power comes on for like a second and goes out again. For that second, fans works fine, and HDD light comes on. Please help. i want to know which part is having problem so I could RMA.

Did you try switching the jumpers around?

you mean the one that is relate to CMOS? No. I read it on my way to work today on the manual, so i will try that too. Please write any idea or your thoughts about the system now. This is the first build and I really need help from your guys! Thank you so much.

take everything off the board, cards, ram except 1 stick. Then try

thank you. I will try that too. I am at work right now, so I will try this when i get home. Take everything off even the processors, video cards etc? just motherboard, and 1 stick of ram right?

make sure your motherboard is grounded, check your screws to be sure that they aren't too tight or too loose i have read that some people just tightened their screws way too tight and loosened them and works just fine, just something i have read that you could check on...

thank you. I will follow your words too when i get home. I saw some bending of the board when I installed it, so I will see what happens! Thank you so much

Don't take off the processor and if you don't have a video card on the motherboard then leave your video card in andd don't remove the hard drive but you can remove the cd drive(s)

I had a very similair problem with my computer when I build it, it just wouldn't start up.

In the end it ended up being that I had to many brass standoffs on the motherboard and the case (little crass things you screwed into the case, the motherboard screws into them).

What you should try is this, it worked for me:

1) Turn the computer off and un-plug it.
2) Take all of the power cables out of the hardware.
3) Take the video card out and put it in it's anti-static bag.
4) Take the motherboard out of the case and put it on the foam mat that came with it in the box, if you don't have one, put it on a large ant-static bag... Prefebably on a desk.
5) Have the CPU and the RAM in the motherboard.
6) Connect the power supply to the 20 pin and the 4 pin (if needed).
7) Connect the power switch of your case to the motherboard (so you can turn it on).
8) Plug in the power supply and turn it on.
9) Try turning it on with the power button on the case.

If it works you know that the motherboard was shorting out because you had too many standoffs in there. Only put the ones you need in there.

I hope this is of some help to you :)
