I want to get water cooling because i want to overclock my e6300 to around 3.0ghz. If i dont need water cooling for that (ie. aircooling HSF) can you let please me know. I have $150 to spend on a full water cooling system.(i know thats not alot but im poor:o) I started reading all the 'stickys' on over 5 watercooling site and i have come up with these parts.

  • Swiftech MCR-220 Radiator $35
  • Hydor L30 Pump $50
  • Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Reservor $20
  • Coolant/Additive $13
  • Tube Clamps $8
Thats already $126 and thats not including the CPU black or the tubing. Can anyone help me out here by telling me what to reduce in quality and what CPU block/tubing to get?

You know, its very uneconomic to get a watercooling system, if you buy cheap ones it can damage your system. Get a Zalman cooler or something.

All I'm saying is that for that price range you are better off with air cooling. Get a Zalman CPU cooler or something.

yes, the price range is too high and you'd be better off with a air cooling.

had a water cooling system, used water not the other fluid. leaked one day. fried compy

You can not really get a water cooling kit or parts for around $150...
Well you could but I think reliability would be good to have.

And if its only the cpu, get a good fan.

Cause I couldn't even find good reliable parts or kits for $250.

So I am going to spend that on air cooling.

Well i should have mentioned this earlier but i have a midtower case and my cpu is in the far top right so there is only like an inch to the top and to the right from the stock HSF so i don't think and large HSF will fit so if i was going to get a good HSF for $100 i would have to get a new case also..
