Please help me pc games

well my favourite game Total annihilation: Kingdoms will not install on my new pc. My old system was a win 98 and i have xp. i try clicking install but nothing happens although when i press ctrl alt del it says setup.exe is running. i tried running it in compatibility mode for 98 still nothing. im stumped. any ideas?

I have the same problem with X-Com Apocalypse

I think it wont run on XP at all. Or sometimes there are special programs that you can install to get it to work. Or at least they did for X-Com.

I had a similar problem with the game Midtown Madness 2.

Obviously, Windows XP is not completely backwards compatible. The best solution is to install both Windows 98 and XP on your computer. You'll probably have to get a second hard drive, according to Microsoft. Read this article:

Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Run this program in compatibility mode for : Windows 98 / ME

Trust me that dosent work on a lot of stuff...



I have no idea where i got the program i beat that game a few years ago and havent installed it sence sorry.
