I am assuming your are from the US, so you'll want to take a look at www.newegg.com and www.zipzoomfly.com :)

I would look into some of the nVidia nForce 680 motherboards. Or have a look at the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6.

Are you intending to overclock the CPU?

yes, and i want to know which mother board that can handle all that stuff and actualy last w/out any lackings.

i think i did choose the quad.. didnt i?

Ageia PhysX Processing Unit is Just a waste of money. It doesn't improve performance. Don't waste your money on something useless

Edit: Also, don't get 4GB ram because windows XP can't utilize 4GB ram. Just get 2GB and then upgrade to 4GB later when windows Vista comes out

I wouldn't get the quad core yet. Nothing really utilizes it yet and prices will come down and more versions will come out and you will really be able to get the cpu that you want. As for the mobo I would go for a 680i.

He's right.

I'd drop the blu-ray that technology will fail with in a few years, and it would be like owning a laser disc player or a beta max unit.

If you have almost 5 grand to blow ona system, why not just get dual xeon woodcrest processors, they are faster than C2D. May not make a super big difference in games but it would in everything else, or if you wanted to play a game and burn a dvd at the same time:D

Pfffft, if this guy is serious on spending 5k on one computer and seems like he wants to waste as much money as possible, then Hanzo, just jet 2 nice core2duo towers for like 2000 a piece with 8800gtx's etc. and buy an old cluster controller from cray or fujistu or sun microsystems, then ur set on processing power, and mayb then u could hook ur old pcs up to it for that small amount of more ooooomph.

seriously spend 7k and do that.

There is something called the EDIT button...
The R600 is ATi's DX10 card which should be out by the end of January.
The Silverstones that ceewi picked out are good but you can also look at the PC Power and Cooling PSUS.
You might want a bit more space on the HDD but that's your choice.
Even if you did get Blu-ray, why get two?

EDIT: Personally, I'd get the PC Power and Cooling because I'd prefer having more than 1 12V rail.
