please help me to get past this BIOS thing

gday guys. i got a computer and when i turn it on it goes straight to the (AWARDBIOS SETUP UTILITY) how do i get past it and what do i have to do to get past it? is it that there is no operating system?? i got no idea. im only a ametuer at computers lol, it comes up with this on the right of the screen

During the last boot up, your system hung for an inproper CPU Internal Frequency setting. your system is now working in safe mode. to optimize the system performance and relaiability, make sure the CPU Internal frequency conforms to the specifications of your CPU.

So how do i fix that?? LOL

Try resetting the bios. There should be a jumper near the battery with something like CLR CMOS. Or if not take the motherboard battery out for a few minutes, then replace it. Do either with the computer off and unplugged.

You will not be able to use cpu-z to find the system specs on another machine.

Just to clear things up for me, This AWARDBIOS SETUP UTILITY comes up and gives you what options? Or does it just tell you to reset it.
If you can get into your BIOS then you can find your system specs under system information, or a tab like it.

it comes up with what i said at the start on the right of the screen. you have your normal bios. like every computer.
 
while in the setup utility go thru the menu's (sorry not familiar with that bios) until you find the processor specs.
if there is a reset to default, try that, otherwise take down all the info there and post it in this thread and someone should be able to help

i went through the whole thing and all i could find was in the exit part 'load setup defults' ? i do that but it still doesent change anything?? im not sure if it has a operating system if that helps????? but i do have a disk to install one but i dont kow how.
 
What kind of processor does it say you have? Sounds like the board has gone for a dump, I could recommend a replacement (or if its worth replacing)
installing an operating system is easy (just put the disc in and start it) but likely (like 99.9%) will not help this problem.
 
get infront, new problems

alright i got past the bios by setting the cpu frequency to 1200mgz. there is defently a operationg system but a old one. windows 2000 professional. says checking file system on :c and then goes to blue screen saying

KMODE_EXEMPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer, if this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check to see if you have adequate disk space, if a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardare vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS Memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

Refer to your Getting started manual for more information on troubleshooting stop errors.
I tried safe mode and it went to the blue screen. any ideas on what i could do? i do have another operatng system that i could install if its easier?? any help would be great, thanks guys
