Hi, Since no one relplied to my previous post, i am posting it again.
Gday,
Ive had this annoying problem with my graphics card for about a year now and I thought its about time I asked around to see if anyone knows what to do.
Ok..After I bought the card I thought it was the best of the best, or close to, as it cost around AUD$460. It worked out nicely for about a year, but then games started coming out and my computer was unable to cope with the kind of resolutions i had been running them at.
I then started looking for a program in which i could increase my clocking speeds with. The first prog i found was ATITools, which worked quite well for about a month, then SmartGart started kicking in and restarting my GPU and then it kept asking me to restart my comp.
That was really starting to p**s me off.
I then thought that my comp (a dell at the time) couldnt handle the card or the games i wanted to play, so I decided to make my own comp. I made it well(i think with an Abit AV8 mobo and AMD64 3000+. I was over the moon at the way my new comp was running and no restarting.\
But like all good things, they must fail.
The same thing started happening.
I then removed the sock cooling system and installed a nice zalman system.
Also i installed Omega Drivers and ATI Tray Tools.
Installing TrayTools removed my annoying problem but also created another.
It now lasted around 25-30mins gaming before making an anoying beep through my speakers and locking up the system.
Since then the only way i can play games for over 10 mins is to lower my graphics to 800x600x16bit and less and putting all settings on low.
I have sufficient cooling and ventilation in my case, and a new cpu fan, The Coolermaster Beetle.
Iam not sure if my card is overheating, but all the signs point the fact that it is.
Thankyou for reading my thesis on my comp
Please help me
btw, yes I have overclocked using ATItraytools and ATItool
could this have been my problem?
