Please Help, Need Advice on Building a Comp.

I've put together a list of components that I found that I would like to build a computer from. The problem is I do not know very much about computer hardware and do not know whether this combination will work well together or at all for that fact. Please if you have any advice or suggestions, let me know. Below is a list of the hardware I have currently selected to build from, I would like to keep this build at about the same price it's at now. Thanks for your help!

I know that someone will mention this to you so it may as well be me: There is a big price coming for intel processors end of july (22nd i think). This might save you some money, or get you the q6600 for like $20 more. Also, Are you planning to use vista 64 bit? Otherwise windows xp does not recognize 4 gigs of ram so 2 gigs should be fine. Are you planning to upgrade in the future? FYI DDR3 comes out later this month i believe. So a motherboard that supports both DDR2 and DDR3 might be in ur best interest for the future.

Thanks for the input, I am planning on running both XP Professional and Vista Business off of separate hard drives since I have access to both through the MSDN Academic Alliance. Also I am currently saving for this and will be buying pieces at a time, so I'll hold off on buying the CPU until last. What motherboard would you recommend, I know that DDR3 is coming, but I do not currently know which boards support it. Again, thanks for your help

I wouldnt get that processor, you can buy the E6600 now for $100 less, or wait until July and get the Q6600 for around $230.

First welcome to the forum and yes there is a major price shift on July 22. I would wait like the rest of us. There may be other things happening, wink, wink:D
