Hi, I am looking to get a laptop so that I can begin the process of applying to grad school for fall '09, and of course I'd like the computer to last a few years and get me through school. I'm doing a Counseling Psych program (not rocket science), so I don't think that I will require too many fancy features on this computer. I have an easier time with Macs. Other than that I don't know very much about computers at all. So I suppose my main questions are:
*Is it better/more economical to go used over new? Or is it better/safer to just pay the money for a brand new machine?
*If new, would the most basic Macbook (starting at $1099) be sufficient, or is it important to upgrade memory, software, etc?
*If used, what model would be most appropriate to my needs?
Thanks!
