About a week ago i took the cover off my computer to dust it out. i pluged the moniter and all my hardware back up, but for some reason i cant get any picture on my moniter. im pretty sure its not the screen b/c i hooked up an old CRT to my com and got the same thing. the computer comes on when i boot it up but i just get a `no signal` on the screen. if you have any insight or knowledge of this i could use it!

try checking if you havnt reinstalled somthing incorrectly look if anythings not shorting against he sheet metal of the case other wise what did u use to clean it?

i think this is a random error. i got it about 3-4 times on my old com and once on my new one. i think what happened was that the power was suddenly cut from the monitor (like turn off the power before the monitor is completely shut down). what i did was just to repeated turn on and off the monitor and CPU as well and taking out the putting the cable back on. im not sure how that would work but it did for me. of course, im not saying that is the right way to solve the problem.

So the computer itself turns on? Double check the connection between the monitor and the PC. I am going to go ahead and assume you did not damage anything. When you start the computer, listen to the PC itself, you should hear some beeps (and in some cases, no beeps at all). Reply with what, or what you do not hear.

well i did everything i could think of before i came to this site, including checking the moniter and looking for shorts, but no. not any beeps. but yesterday i turned it on and everything went normal like nothing happend untill about 2 min into the desktop screen it froze. and when i turned it off. it never happened again.

Alright, in the interest of ruling things out, try removing one stick (the one in the second DIMM) and then try booting up you PC>
