Iam attempting to enter my BIOS but I have this password on a black screen, 6 characters, that gives me three attempts before allowing me to pass, but will NOT let me enter Bios at all if I get it wrong.
To the best of my knowledge this is new, I have modified BIOS np in the past and am stumped at what this pword is, since I only have a handful and none seem to work.
I removed my CPU battery and power supply, I had it out for roughly 13 or so minutes but this Black Password screen still persisted. I had to reset my clock after this procedure so am I right in thinking my BIOS was reset as was intended? and this is not a Bios password?
I tried finding other threads on what this password could be but UEFI and BIos are the only two that seem to keep coming up.
I can load into windows normally as the Admin, my win.p.word will not work on the blackscreen p.word.
I uploaded a picture of the screen.

Any help people would be appreciated.

That is a bios/system password. Removal of cmos battery may or may not clear the password but since you had to reset the clock then the cmos was reset but not the password. Is this a laptop or desktop pc? There may be a reset password jumper on the motherboard itself.

This is a desktop, i 7, HP.
Is the reset password jumper an actual physical connection that I need to make on the motherboard?
Thanks for the help John

What is the specif model of HP computer you have? Yes, its a jumper on the motherboard itself.
