Hi, I recently bought a sony vaio (VGN-NR32M - about a week ago) and evertything has been fine, except now I'm having an error with the wireless.

When I search networks it says it cannot find any...But I know for a fact there are many networks in range, as I can move it right next to the router, and refresh and it does nothing....also it has been working fine with these networks for the past week.

I click on "diagnose connection problems" (I'm on Vista BTW) and it says:

"LAN Express AS 1EEE 802.11g PCI-E Adapter problem with hardware or driver for this device."

So then I went to the troubleshooting page and it had four options. One of them was "This device has previously worked but has now stopped working" So I clicked on this and it told me to try and update the driver, but when I went to windows update and found this (optional) update, it had another error, saying unable to update...I tried this numerous times.

And then the icing on the cake is that a search for this driver brings up nothing....so how can I even download and install one??

Please help - I'm dependant upon this laptop and its wireless for college work.

Hi bit4bit,
I had a similar problem with my Vaio FZ21M, I performed a google search for an Intel WiFi driver download.... I then downloaded it to my desktop, then un-installed the WiFi driver. Then restarted, when Windows (I downgraded to XP) says, "found new hardware" I cancelled this to close the window and then manually installed the driver I found from google (you may already have the driver so you may not have to search/google it), this sorted it out - I tend to always install drivers manually (even for some updates!!). Windows update is not always accurate in its driver download - especially when your looking to sort out a specific driver problem.....
