I just bought the Apple aluminum wired keyboard without the number pad. It works great other than the function keys do not do what they are supposed to. I have tried using sharpkeys but it doesnt even recognize my f10 and f8 keys. My driver says its from 2006, i have tried searching for a newer driver but cant find one. Someone please help i'm tearing my hair out. All I want is for the media keys to work. Thanks

Clearly, you're going to need a driver. Give us the make and model of the keyboard, and we'll see if we can't hook you up. :D

ha ha, sorry I meant to put the new Apple wired mini keyboard.
It's the mb869ll/a When I plugged it into my pc it automatically installed drivers for it. My pc recognizes it as a HID keyboard, not an Apple keyboard if that makes any difference. Thanks

Update: I found a newer driver, version 3.0 from april 2009. My pc recognizes it as an apple keyboard now, but sharpkeys still isn't picking up some of my function keys.

What do you aim to have sharpkeys do? Will the function keys do what they're meant to do? Or does the computer not even acknowledge them?

No, sharpkeys doesn't even recognize im pressing a few of the F keys. I would like them to control my media like icons show on the keys. Volume up down, play fast forward, etc.

Yes I am running an apple keyboard on a pc but others have done this so I've read.

It would still require specific drivers for any third party key mapping utility, and the developer would have to code in support as well.

Though, Windows itself should see the Apple keyboard as a standard USB keyboard.
