Please help with computer purchase

I know that most people on this site recommend building their own computer. However, I need a computer relatively fast, and don't have the motivation to build my own.

Can somone please direct me to a good computer to purchase? I have been looking a bit at Dells and HPs. I will be using it for photos, music, internet, and gaming (although I am not that hardcore of a gamer...).

I'd like to spend ~$1500. Please help with what specs are most important, what are a little less important, and so on.

Thank you so much!!

Why is it difficult to find 667 MHz memory with AMD Anthlon 64x2 dual core processor?

Should I definitely choose AMD over Intel??

Go to www.ibuypower.com, they have very great customizable systems for great prices.

How?

Is there as step-by-step guide that will help one build a PC. I know it would not do any good to talk to the salesman because they know about as much as I do about how to build one, and I know nothing at all. I have never even seen inside my computer, let along know how to put one togehter. I learned quite a bit in IT but not enough to build one from scratch.
I am a 65 year old woman. Do you think I can build one?
