Please Help With Monitor Problem

I am not sure if this is a monitor problem or a computer problem: On my monitor screen there is a very thin vertical line aprox. 3" from the right side. The line comes and goes, it is usually but not always there when I start up and it leaves after a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced this and can anyone advise how to remedy this problem?

Are you running Windows Vista? if you are that is Vista's Window Sidebar (for adding Window Gagets to your desktop), when you move your mouse over to that side of the monitor it will activate the Sidebar.
 
Most likely a slightly overheating video card or a bunch of dead pixels (dead line?) in your monitor. try plugging in computer to a different monitor and see if it persists.
