I got my laptop back from being "repaired" and the guy has replaced the HDD but when I turn it on it says "No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key".

So I made a boot disk with a .ISO file but it doesn't have the Vista install files and I can't really do anything.

Please can you tell me what I need to do to get my laptop running normally again. I have the Vista product key on the back of my laptop by the way.

Thanks.

It seems that the repair guy has just put in another HDD and hasn't installed an OS. Is the HDD listed under BIOS? Did your PC come with a backup disc or anything of that nature. You can most likely request another CD from your manufacturer for a small fee or free.

It didn't come with any disc.

So I should just ring customer service and get them to send me one?
