2nd msg, does anyone know what causes "internal target failure" when i go to burn a dvd (movie, decrypted and shrunk to 1 layer), pioneer 108. was working fine, still burns cd's. happens on more than 1 burning program???
Huh, strange, have you tried burning just normal files to a DVD, the drive's DVD optical laser might be shot... Try updating the drivers or the firmware for it as well...
Yeah, the drives have two different lenses for the drives. Firmware is another version of drivers, sort of... Too complicated to really get into, but look for drivers and firmware, and maybe that will clear up some of the problems...
wont burn files to dvd either, am having trub running latest firmware? will swap ide, then try differant media, if that doesn't work then i think it must be the burner!!! 6months old???
It seems to me, from what I have read, that you are having problems with the DVD lense. I think it has gone. These things simply happen. Usually, what happens is that they start loosing the intensity and then fail. Did this failure follow a set of strange behavior on the side of the drive?
not that i can recall, it just started ocasionally and got worse till it stopped all together. i think ur right though. thanx heaps 4 replying, PEACE OUT!!!
