Please Help!!

So i got a 1gb ddr2 667 stick of ram in the mail other day to add with my other 1gb ddr2 667 stickalready installed so i can run in dual channel and have 2gb of memory. when i added this stick of ram to my computer, my performance almost was cut in half, 3d mark06 gave me a score of 3668 when i used to get a score of 6200 with only 1 gb of ram, half life 2 lost cost gave me a score of 40fps compared to the 70fps i used to get and now oblivion runs like crap so what could be the problem,

pentium d 820
geforce 7900 GT
2gb of ram
120gb hdd
ecs 945p motherboard
 
You can have two different quality brands and still see problems due to some boards having compatibility problems with one while not with another. What brand was first used? Are they the same or a mix?
