i signed up to this forum because im having problems with my new computer. i just instaled a am2 asus mobo with a 3800 amd athlon 2.4ghz and an nvidia 7600gt. all was going well untill i tried to play some games. even though battlefield 2142 and 2 are easily below my specs i get in game lag, what could be causing this probem? (it is not internet related lag)

thanks

Obviously the resolution and game settings will make a difference to the performance.

My first suggestion would be to make sure the latest video drivers are correctly installed.

i tried drivers, does nothing. also, fear is great with only rare lag now and then. something wrong with battlefields and their patches?

have you got the latest patches ect. ????

also, what RES are you playing @ and are you using AA or the like ???

What other programs are you running while running bf?

Also, while it may only require 512mb, that is not ideal. If you were to run it with only 512mb, you would have to lower the settings a lot.

is it possible that one gig of ram isnt enough then?
but surely the 7600 alone is enough to handle it?
ive closed all programs in bottom right corner, the processor usage is fine and doesnt struggle, im thinking perhaps faulty gfx card, not running as well as it should, but then again, far cry/fear on full are fine

yeh that does it, but i have to turn them down looooads on bf2
i forgot to mention the built in psu and the fact that its only 380 watts, ive had some people telling me it could be that, lack of power what dya think?

It's quite probable...how many amps on the +12V rail?

also, when i overclocked the procesor to 2.6 ghz, the computer tended to spontaneously restart itself suggesting lack of power aswell, what dya mean by amps in rail?
