please help!!!!

my computer takes a long time to load (several hours) before i can see the user menu screen,why is this and how can i possibly fix it??? thank you very much!!!!!
 
Sounds like a virus to me. I once had a virus that didn't let any administrators log on... thankfully I limited my sisters account :D and I got into hers but I couldn't open up Mcafee so I ran it under my name and cleaned out the virus.

What do you mean exactly when you say user menu screen? The start menu, taskbar, icons and what not? Is this during bootup? Additionally, you say "several hours," do you literally mean several hours? 2 hours or more?
 
i mean the menu where have t choose which account i want to log on to then i can start using the computer,also i have checked for viruses but it dosent seem to be the problem.anymore advice please?? thanks agian to everyone!!!
 
If you are having to wait "several hours" for that, it's probably best to format your pc. Or, it could be a hardware issue nonetheless.
