Ok recently (like 2 months) my computer has started to randomly shut off and show a "blue screen" with a bunch of writing and numbers. It will seriously do this up to 10times a day. Im not sure whats wrong??? Ive been to other forums and no one can help me or figure out what it is thats wrong w/my computer. Here are my computer specs

Windows XP
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+
1.0 GB Ram
80GB HDD and 200GB HDD

Here is exactly what the blue screen says:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damge.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask you hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If this problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as catching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options and then select Safe Mode.

Ahhh i once had this problem. Were u running any high memory taking proccesses? (games etc.)? It could be that your ram gave way and "fried" if you will. I dont like to use the word fried b.c that may not be the problem, but i THINK it has def. something to do with your memory.

I am not aware of a specific program, but when i was once a mere nooblet, i had my pc taken into a technician and he ran a scan of any possible memory errors. Maybe google search "free memory error scan" or something

Yeah I dont want to have to resort to a tech guy, if at all possible. Thanks for the advice though and I will try google.
