Please help

hey everyone!
I am new to the forum and very new to computers and all the new products available.

I just bougt a new computer and i can tell you this:
400gb hard drive
2.4ghz duo quad core processor
2gb of ram
300w power supply
and a very disgusting 128 intergrated video card

I dont know much about computer parts at all, i do know that i need a pci-express video card and i dont want to spend more then 170-200 CAD. I hear people talking about the 8600gt by Nvidia but i dont know if there are any other choices that are better. If you can please send me in the right direction or even link me to a page that has a pretty cool deal that ships to canada i would be very grateful. I just dont want to buy something that wont work in my system.

Also i do know that 300w is pretty bad and the 8600 needs at least 350. That is why im also thinking about purchasing another power supply.

Also one more thing i forgot to throw in is i have an HP widescreen monitor and i do know that the 8600 does not run at 1440X900 is this a problem?

Two Canadien vendors I can point you at are TigerDirect.CA and memoryexpress that sells for less. Being limited with a 300w supply and onboard video is no picnic there I can imagine. If you are not a serious gamer with a prebuilt system being a big drawback for that why spend $200-$300 or more on a video card? You probably will see a 350w or 400w HP model supply easily go in.

For a lower price to simply get away from the onboard you could also look at Sapphire,Asus, or MSI Direct X 10 capable cards for about $90-$150 CA and save on cost.
