After weeks of scouring the internet on X58 motherboards, I have finally decided on the Gigabyte UD3R motherboard. I have seen various positive and negative posts on the boards, but after talking with people that have firsthand experience with the board, I have made my choice.

The question is, for those who own the UD3R (because ive heard even some ram posted on the compatibility list in incompatible), what ram do you use?

I had my heart set on

I have no idea what the difference is between the Trident and the Ripjaw series if someone could clarify.

Thank you!

No first hand experience with that board, there is very little difference between those sets of memory, other than the tridents have better timings. However, for a 24/7 rig 2000mhz DDR3 is a complete and total waste of money. You would be better off with a lower cas set of 1600mhz memory, and the only time you really need 2000mhz memory is if you were in a benching scenario. I would save the money and go with one of these kits:

I'm running that board with some cheap Super-Talent RAM. I've not had a single hiccup out of it. The board and el-cheapo ram has been super stable at 3.33GHz
