I know the survey seems quite brief, but the data I will get back from it will be really good when it is cross referenced and compared. So thanks for your comments :)

I do understand that a lot of people wat to vote more than on genre, but for the outcome in the report I needed just one genre. sorry about that :)

Expect the results in this thread soon... :)

i just submitted mine. the question about "do you like violent games"...

i said yes, but i really try to find games that are not violent but it's really hard nowadays, because most popular games are violent.

i was gonna answer no... but seeing that i DO play them, it wouldn't seem proper to say no.

Yeah, that question's hard to quantify... I said no, because I consider that to be games like the Grand Theft Auto and "unnecessary" violence. Anyway, good luck with your report, I'd be interested to see the results, and possibly get some hard evidence to present to certain parties...

Hello entr0py and welcome to Computer Forum. I'm in the middle of doing your survey, I hope it will be of help to you and your project. I would like to share a bit of constructive criticism If I may.

Firstly these points are not necessarily important but I thought I'd point out a few things. Ok now #4, A residence would be a house, apartment, bungalow etc. but you used the term to describe an area such as Town, City, etc. Now pointing that one out was just me being really picky :).

Secondly, #7 is basically the same as #6 with the inclusion of asking for the first game purchased for a particular console. I just find #7 unnecessary.

Third, #14... 1 and 5 are the same but worded differently.

#16 you ask specifically about "computer" games when perhaps it should also mention consoles. Also typing a small paragraph in the little box is just a pain in the butt.

Well there ya have it, my 2 cents :P. I will continue to fill it out for you. Hopefully it will be of some help. I hope I have not offended you, just wanted to share with you my opinion.

Good luck

:) Well thanks for your comments...

Firstly:

I'm afraid it was necessary! When I post the results as well as the report, you shall see why.. All in good time my friend.

A residence would be a house, apartment, bungalow etc. but you used the term to describe an area such as Town, City, etc. Now pointing that one out was just me being really picky :).

Yes you are right on two counts, a residence is a house etc, you are also right in saying you are being picky! :)

#14... 1 and 5 are the same but worded differently.

For 1, this may for example apply to people who play games lots, but believe that their gaming routine has no impact on their life.

For 5, this may for example apply to people who hardly ever play games, meaning that games litterally have no impact on their life. Also, the question was worded very carefully to show the psychology behind peoples choices. They are very similair statements, but which statement is answered means quite a lot.

#16 you ask specifically about "computer" games when perhaps it should also mention consoles. Also typing a small paragraph in the little box is just a pain in the butt.

Why do I need to ask about consoles? I'm being broad in the question, I want to know about how people think the future will pan out for gamers in terms of health, society and interaction with other people.

Yes, I am aware the box is a pain in the butt, but once I had published the questionaire I couldn't edit unforunately.

:)

Why do I need to ask about consoles? I'm being broad in the question
I only thought that perhaps it would be better to say "games" without generalizing "computer" or "console" (unless you mention both) which would truely be a broad question. To mention "computer" only in the sentence is actually asking for a much more narrow answer.

For example, my answer would only include games which I play on PC, I would not mention any console games I play/played because of the generalization in the question. The same goes for question #15 as well.

Anyway just thought I would point that out. Thank you for taking the time to explain things.
