To keep it simple I basically want to do some video editing and at least play Doom3. Ive been told to pick a cpu first and design around that. I like the Intel core 2 E6400 2.13Hz 2mb Cache/ 1066 Mhz FSB/Dual Core/OEM/ 775 Socket processor. Seems decent for around 200. I'm not experienced with buying this stuff so advise if thats not good. My question then is what motherboard for around 100. to 150. would be best suited for this processor?

Would get you started. It's within your budget range you are asking... do you like ASUS?

I always grab my mobo first and imagine what I want in one. Go with a Gigabyte DS3 or S3. Nice, stable, and simple, good for OC'ing, don't know if you need that but the board is like $108-130. Save some money and upgrade to an E6600

Asus P5N-E Sli nForce 650i looks good. Whats the right power supply for general use with this setup? (1.8 ghz cpu ok? or more?)
