Hey everyone, this is my first build and im going for a gaming rig. im trying to keep it at under $700, i looked at all the other threads and so far this is what i have! any suggestions?

Video card - I recommend 4870 512MB over 4850 1GB

Mobo: since you install a video card, onboard GPU is not needed. Why not getting ASUS M4A77TD Pro to save $10?

Depends, what size is your monitor ?

Have a look at the 4770´s as well . They O´Clock well and are on par with the 4850. They chew less power and run cooler.

Have you looked into Intel/Nvidia? The Q6600 are cheap and overclock very well. And my personal choice is Nvidia. You can get a 9800 GTX+ for under 100 dollars

i have a 19'' monitor.
and now im trying to decide if i want to just pay up and go for quad
*edit* do i need a heatsink for my cpu?
and i dont think im going to o.c

That`s a nice build you got already.

I´d get a CPU cooler , the one that comes with that CPU is crap. Zigmatek do some nice cheap ones that are quiet and will bring your cpu temp down. The scythe is also another I´d recommend. Look for some good thermal paste. AC 5 , and MX2 are some of the best.
