Okay guys/gals, whats going on? Well this i think can be easily fixed but i forget and dont want to delete the wrong one. When i boot my pc, before i get into windows xp I recieve a screen that says please select operating system and theres 3 versions/partations of windows xp home ed. shown and i only use the first one. Im guessing there other/older partations of xp home that i or the pc didnt delete when i did fresh installs of xp home. the reason i would like to delete them is becasue i have like 3GB of space left on my HD and im looking for anything to delete till i get another bigger HD. Would it be worth it to go about deleteing them?

Thanks again

Deleting those other two options from the start up menu won't do anything more than reduce your used hard drive space by a few bytes. Open up System Properties. (Either right click My Computer and go to Properties or find it under System through the Control Panel.) If you go to Advanced from here and then click on the Settings button, a new window will pop up. In there, first thing, you'll see your list of operating systems. Now, if you click Edit, you'll see direction for which system to chose by default, and which others will be offered upon start up. Deleting the two lines of those two others will save you the disk space you're looking for- but only by a few bytes.

What I'd suggest you do, instead, is partition your hard drive. Say you make two partitions- drives C and D. Save everything you need on drive D. Format drive C. Then, Reinstall Windows on that partition, the C:. From here, if I were you, I'd keep all of my media and games and such--those files that are everchanging or not so permanent--on the secondary drive, the D:, and, along with Windows, all of the applications I use. It's organized. It keeps disk space under easy management. And it sounds like it might suit what you're looking for.

Good luck with everything, Steve.

Right button on the "My computer" ,switch to the advance card,

--->the start and the problem repair --->setting

------->change the list of OS time to zero.

or ------->edit delete the unwanted OS ,timeout=0

My OS default language is not English.

So I don't know the exact word on the setting button.
