hmm thats weird maybe it came underclocked? or maybe because its a skt 939 not 745 or w/e that socket is called it slips my mind lol.there was very few of the skt 939's made of the 3400 idk why, or I never tried to oc it so it might just be underclocked. HELL amd doesnt even list it as one of their cpu's.

Oh, I didn't realise that. Looking at my chart, the stock speed is 2.2GHz for the skt 939 model. I have the skt 754 model, and didn't even know there was a different one. Sorry for the confusion. :o

AMD doesnt list a lot of CPUs -- which doesnt mean it doesnt exist -- except in this case. There is no Athlon64 3400 (unless you can provide an OPN number for it ... it'll be that funky code listed on the chip itself). The Athlon64-3400 has OPNs of ADA3400AEP5AP, ADA3400AEP5AR and ADA3400AEP5AX which means that they are all
- Socket754
- 2.2GHz with the exception of (ADA3400AEP5AX which is 2.4Ghz)
- 1MB cache (with the exception of ADA3400AEP5AX which is 512K)
- Clawhammers (with the exception of ADA3400AEP5AX which is Newcastle)
- 130nm chips with TDP of 89W

Now a case of a CPU that exists but AMD doesnt list is the Athlon64-3300 (ADA3300AEP3AX) which is a Socket754, 2.4GHZ Newcastle with only 256K.

On the chart that I got from Tom's Hardware, it lists an AMD Athlon64 under the skt 939 category as 2.2GHz with a Newcastle core and a 512MB cache

The product does exist but it was only sold for a short period of time its same as a 3500 pritty muchh except the ht is 800 not 1000. it has to be askt 939 considering i got a skt 939 mobo lol.

In that case, what is the OPN code? Without an OPN, it cant be a verifiably existent chip. (not to say ive not heard of a S939-3400, just not heard from anywhere reliable nor seen proof)

Well according to AMD it doesn't exist, and google comes up pretty much empty, but I was able to find this. AMD.com says that there are 2 3400 models with 2.2GHz freqs but they are both skt 754.

it us to have lots of problems but solved now

those were the two that I was aware of, I have the Newcastle. Where did you get that?

I bought it from tigerdirect in a bundle deal came w/ a msi k8t neo2 and this chip w/ a heatsink and fan. Newegg also had a 3400 939 cpu/mobo/ram combo.
