Hi. I am using cable wires home to connect to broadband but now I want to setup a router for my notebook so that I could access the Internet with my notebook anywhere home wirelessly. The questions are

1. Please recommend a router model for 100M cable broadband
2. What is different between a good router and a bad router or the diff between a cheap router and expensive one? What factors should I think about when it comes to choosing a
router among lots of choices
3. If both wireless and wire connection are used at the same time will the speed and stability of the wire connection be largely affected? Could router affect the stability of the Internet ? For example ,increase packet loss ,something
4. Can I control the ratio of Internet share to the router? Because I sometimes open the connections to my kids to use the Internet but they don't need fast speed or download lots of things

To answer number 3. The answer is no.

To answer number 4 in the router it's called QoS or Quality Of Service. If you have kids I would check out Opendns.

No I don't mean site screening or family control over the kids but I meant that if I could limit the bandwidth provided to the wireless connection so that the wire connection from the desktop would not become too slow in case the wireless connection attempts to request for heavy traffic. I hope the desktop could have 7/24/365 priority in connection

Btw. Would anyone recommend an economic wireless router for
me that could well pass through one wall. My kid room next to me and a concrete thick wall separated
