ok so Im trying to RAID-0 my 2 new hardrives that came in today. i have an ASUS Rampage mobo. i used the mobo utility to setup the array or whatever, but when i go to load windows it says it doesnt recognize them. obviously i need to load the Intel ICH9r RAID driver.... problem is, when i try to use the utility it says "unable to get disk information" and wont let me extract the drivers to my thumb drive (which it says u CAN do in the manual)

main question is: am forced to go buy a f'ng floppy disk drive just to set up RAID?

so you run the exe or whatever to get the drivers and it tells you it cant continue because there is no floppy

i put the DVD that came with the motherboard into a different computer i have and also inserted my thumb drive. on the disk there is a utility to create a RAID driver disk. when i run the utility it says "unable to get disk information" then a little window pops up allowing me to manually select a storage device to extract the drivers to. the only option it gives me is "H:\" which IS my thumb drive. but it gives me the same message when i hit ok.

i even reformatted the thumb drive thinking it needed to be empty or something. im jsut confused because the manual says i can use a USB device or a flopp 3.5 . is this a falicy?

here, give me the exact mobo modle number and what not. let me see if i can get them online.

no problem... if i recall you need to use floppy drives to load drivers for xp. vista i know they made the use of flash drives available. but let me check that
