the only difference i can c between these two is that the 512gto had one disadvantage and that's it uses ddr2 instead of ddr3. which one should i pick? http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814102684 or

I would pick the Powercolor is has GDDR3, plus I always looked at Sapphire as a cheap card! Havent seen anything that would use more that 256, the 512 might even be a little slower

I would go with the 512MB:

1. I dont think there will be a noticable difference between GDDR2 and GDDR3

2. They both have the same core and memory clock speeds, so you definitly wont notice a difference between 2 and 3

3. The 512MB has more RAM which is always better

4. The 512MB has better cooling so it will overclock better as well

um gddr 2 and 3 have a great diference the ram is what does alot of the worck on the card

The memory speed would be alot slower on the 512MB card, and would most likely perform less than the 256MB card in most games. DDR3 also overclocks much better than DDR2 does.

It all depends on how long you want to keep the card. If it's only a "temporary" card that your using for a few months, go with the 256MB. However if your using this for a while, and want to get vista, i would go with the 512MB.
