PLz help need some series help!!

Hi guys i need some help on reinstalling my computer. I was trying to fix my computer because it was missing samlib.dll so I dont know how to fix it and decide to use my system restore cd with windows xp on a stock hp computer with windows media center edition. Now when i start the computer it starts to a point when it says"invalid partortion driver" I m really lost plz give some advice on how to fix or reinstall the windows thx.

That dll file is one that windows uses to do security authorizations.

If you can boot to windows at all, go here and download the dll file and install it to your c:/windows/system32 directory.

That should fix it.

If you can not boot at all now, it sounds like you screwed up your partition when you tried to use your restore disk.

You are probably at the point where you will have to reformat and reinstall windows. Hopefully you backed up your data and won't loose anything because of it.

how do i reformat the window? I cant get in to the windows. I can start the system to the point where it loads the hp logo and turns black with those words"invalid partition "

You'll have to completely reformat your computer then since you can't log all the way in. Insert your install disc and then follow the directions for reformatting.

yes as he said^^ insert your windows xp install disk and set the computer to boot from cd.

then you will eventually get to a bit where it asks you where to install. i usually delete the partition that windows was on and install in the space it leaves.

so if you have stuff on another partition then that should be safe maybe...
