Ok well im going yo either make or upgrade a computer to a "simple gaming computer." :)

ok first if im upgrading the computer its going to have
-ASUS M2V-MX motherboard
-2GB Kingston DDR2 667 ram
-Nvidia 7800 GTX
-Athlon™ 64x2
(extras)
- Logitech G15 keyboard
- Logitech Z-2300 Speakers
- Samsung SyncMaster 2063uw Moniter

My first question is with all this, how large of a power supply am I going to need?
My secound question is if you wer going to make a computer (just the insides not the case and moniter etc.) and you had a budget o0f ~$600.00 CAN give or take fifty or so dollars what would you recomend me getting?

P.S.- sorry for spelling/grammer mistakes as english isnt my first language

Well, first off, RAM is dirt cheap these days, so there isn't really any reason not to just get 4Gb. Your suggested computer would probably be fine with a high quality ~450w PSU, you might even be able to get away with less, but better safe than sorry. I tried to come up with a decent build for you, but newegg.ca refused to cooperate tonight, pages are loading brutally slow, but I'm sure someone else could come up with something better than me anyway, so I'll leave that to someone else.

Get a better board, thats a old AM2 board with a VIA chipset. Look for a AM2+ board with either a AMD or Nvidia chipset.

Drop the 7800GTX, didnt even know they still sold them new. And go for something newer like a 8000/9000 series card. Like a 8800GT/9600GT/9800GT.

Get a good quality 500/600W P/S from like Antec/PC Power & Cooling/Corsair/OCZ/Silverstone
