PNY 8800gts 640mb for $330

Is that a cut price or MIR? Cause if it's MIR you may never see the $50..

If it's simply a reduced price then that's pretty good. I was checking out Newegg for these yesterday and the cheapest I could find was $350 after MIR.

well I'm happy, now I managed to squeeze all this into $1490 with tax and shipping:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 (to be oc'd to 3.0ghz)
2gb 800mhz ram
Antec 900
8800gts 640mb
20" widescreenlcd with 1000:1
zalman 9700 cpu cooler
Gigabyte P35
Keyboard/Mouse
600 Watt PSU
250gb hard drive

That's a nice system. I would have got that gpu that kof posted earlier for not much more money :P

But that's a very good setup.

I have a very strict budget of $1500, and with tax and shipping this came to $1490 hpi, also, the 8800 has dx10.

That 640mb 8800gts is much more future proofed than the dual GPU 1950pro.

I mean he might want to play Crysis or Other DX10 games lol.

eww...pny. not too good a choice.

thats the exact card i got, although from amazon.com (had a gift card so it took a hundred off the cost). the card was defective. i sent it to PNY for replacement/repair, the replacement came in 2 weeks, the card (in its case) in a cardboard box with no padding or anything around it. the box had been squished on one corner and the card damaged. filled out a claim with UPS, they finished processing it in less then a week and PNY was supposed to send out a new one. a month later, i started sending e-mails to pny asking about it, they never replied to any of them. after another month went by, i mentioned contacting the BBB and FTC about it and they finally shipped me a new card, overnight. took more then 2 months overall just to get a working card. I have this odd feeling that they were trying to rip me off.

lol I had the same worries as you, considering I previously had my sights set on the evga, but keep in mind I'm getting this from dell.com...Upon reading other reviews, barely any of them are DOA, and the rest work perfectly. Now in the slight chance that I get a defective one, dell is one of the best companies at replacement/refund...I have 2 laptops and a computer from them, trust me.

hmm come to think of it zaroba...I read your exact review on newegg...You're the only one who had these issues. I would blame amazon for indirectly selling to you from a third party..and @ kof, I was originally gonna buy that but my dad gave me a $1500 cap on the computer, and I'm getting a 20" monitor so I wanted the graphics card to be able to run games at higher resolutions, which means it needed more video ram.

Also, my mom's getting me speakers around $50-$70, anyone have any suggestions? I'm using the integrated realtek 7.1 card on the Gigabyte P35 motherboard, but I only want 5.1
These caught my eye.
