im sat here with my new rig still using a old 80gb IDE drive lol
so im now after the latest and fastest sata drive etcetc i need some recomendations, i like to play games n all that. dont really store much so 80gb to 160gb will be fine for me 160gb probably

im from UK, so can ppl please recommend me a kick ass hard drive for around £20-£30 thanks
 
Either the samsung spinpoint S166 160gb around £30 or the
seagate barracuda 7200.10 160gb about £25 or if lower gb required the
western digital caviar se 80gb around£28
 
Samsung-W/D RE and Seagates are all good drives in Sata 3.0 7200rpm. If you want something faster a W/D Raptor.

then dont go with a Seagate....honestly i cant say theyre crap drives because theyre not,they are relaible but i had a 120Gb one in my old system and it was quite loud. :cool:

im just speaking from my experience from having one.

i now have a Western digital 400GB Sata 2 and i cannot hear it at all its that quiet so i recomend you go with that.
 
Western Digital have those "green" drives (?) that basically lower its RPM a few thousand to conserve energy... Might wanna take a look into those.

there's a seagate in the family computer and it's in a microfly mATX case. It's loud as hell. Thats all you can hear when your in there.
 
my WD 500G 16M cache SATA 3.0Gs are very silent i can't even hear them at all through my case.
but when i take my side of i can start to hear then bet only just
