Hello,
I am using a very basic logitech optical mouse (the cheapest logitech @ ncix). I have been using it for quite some time now on my laptop without any problems. Recently my laptop screen broke so I bought a LCD monitor (boxing day to be exact). Now, the mouse freezes frequently (even as I type this now). Actually, the pointer is frozen onto the screen, but the mouse still functions. I know this because I can move the mouse and track it by left clicking and opening up the menu box. And the pointer changes as I move the mouse over links and texts.
Also the pointer is not exactly frozen, because the pointer image does change. It is more like imprisoned inside a small box, which in a way resembles the monitor screen size. It can move left, right, up, and down around the edges of this 'box' only when the real mouse tries to move beyond the edge of the monitor screen. It is a bit hard to describe.
The only way to fix this problem is to restart, or hibernate and wake up again.
I am not sure if the problem is the mouse or the monitor. I am running windows XP, so I assumed I did not need to download the driver. BUT in order to fix the problem I have downloaded and installed it, but the problem still continues.
I have put this in this category because there was absolutely no such problem before I bought the monitor.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !
