Alot of people need help with builds.
Let's make it easy to find.
Rate my build / Help me buy forum.
Don't know if the mods are down for it, but lets see what others think.

Of all the people asking for a new section, actually I think this one would be a good idea because they end up all over the place.

Could instead of adding a new one, just rename this one to Desktop Computers/Builds
 
A desktop is a desktop regardless if you build it or buy it. All desktop builds should go into the desktop forum. Just my 2 cents.
 
How about a sub-forum in the desktop builds for Desktops and a sub-forum in the laptop forum for you guessed it....... Laptops =)
 
The Desktop forum is basically all about builds already. You wouldn't need a totally new one, just as suggested by StrangeHold rename it to desktops and builds
 
IMO, The Desktop Forum is for Desktop related questions from home built to oem, but just general questions about them and problem solving. If there is a sub forum you separate the people with desktop related problems and general questions from the people looking for new build advice, and product related information. This will make it easier to organize. You could even have a sticky in the Build Forum for current best builds for certain platforms.
 
A Sub forum in "Desktop Computers" sound good to me,I doubt they would add another forum section just for builds.

But you are best just to PM the admin and ask what he thinks about it....we have had these sorts of polls before with good ideas about adding stuff to the forum and it never happens regardless of how many members would like to see it implemented.
 
I know this has been discussed before in off topic, and the general consensus seemed to be that majority of posts in the desktop computers section are build threads. A subforum in desktop computers would probably be the ideal way to go about it.
 
I do think this is for one a really good idea. If there's a subforum for builds then that'll split the people who want to build and people who do not apart, avoiding further confusion during posts.
 
I really think it should be renamed... General Computer Chat and Desktop Computers sorta overlap pretty good.
 
So the poll seems to be going well. Who should I PM to maybe get a sub forum labeled Build / Buy Help? Scince that seems to be the best middle ground.
 
If not a new forum, how about renaming the existing desktop category like suggested, and/or perhaps make a new description for it to reflect its purpose?
 
Ian modified the forum sub title to reflect that new builds will be discussed in this section. For now, other than that, there will be no changes.
