No, as far as this thread goes, I fixed the problem on my sister's computer thanks to you guys helping me. I had to bump this thread because a co-worker of mine is having similar problems with his computer. I went into my "Find all posts by this user" so I can come here and have him go to the Smitfraud link. Unfortunately, I didn't know what page this thread was on so I could have him go here. So I had to post a new post in this thread in order to make it go to page 1 so I could tell him what page to go to to find it.

I am helping him over the phone, so it's a little more difficult without me actually being there to do this stuff for him on his computer. Maybe today or sometime in the next few days, I will have him post a HJT file here so you guys can help him. I had him come here to try the Smitfraud link here because the one I gave him in an email would let him download it, but it wouldn't let him run it. The link in this thread is no different though. The same thing is happening when he clicks the Smitfraud link in this thread as well.

When he tries to run it, he says that a screen flashes really quick for 1 second and then quickly disappears. Do you know why the Smitfraund program won't run on his computer?

It could be a number of things, what Operating System is he using? Some security programs will block Smitfraudfix and may need to be disabled. You can also try running Smitfraudfix.cmd from the folder that Smitfraudfix will have created when it was run.

Best to have him post a HijackThis log, though. Even if Smitfraudfix won't run, there are other tools that we can use to remove such infections.
