pop ups from ie?

recently, i've beem getting pop ups in internet explorer (i use firefox). what would cause this/how do i stop it?
 
pop-ups? you mean advertising ? or like warnings. If its advertising you've probably got yourself some ad-ware/malware or of the like. You might try some commercial scanners like Norton or AVG if you've already got it. Otherwise there are some freeware ones out there which I can't think of off the top of my head... HijackThis is a good tool if i recall. Good luck
