Hi
I have a Webserver on a dmz (Netgear DG834) (static ip 192.168.0.4, Gateway 192.168.0.1)
On an internal LAN router connected to the netgear via a lan port and then to the WAN port of router 2 i have several pcs and an SQL server (static ip 192. 168.1.3 gateway 192.168.1.1) internet and mail work fine - no problems.
I wish to get the webserver to be able to access the SQL server and I understand I will have to use port forwarding. Subject to knowing what port SQL is on do i just have to port forward in one direction (from SQL - router 2 - router 1 - Webserver) or do i have to set up the reverse on each router.
Does it matter which way around you port forward - if that makes sense!! or is it common to port from the ISP WAN - through to the LAN
thanks again
