"Portrait" monitor displays sideways while booting

I've got two monitors connected to my PC, and one of them is in portrait orientation, since that's the way I have it rotated. This is fine within Windows, however it boots in Landscape, which looks pretty ugly during boot.

Is there anyway to force the boot to display in Portrait, as my monitor does within Windows?

Thanks!

No way mate

The first thing that happens is the CPU takes its instructions from the BIOS and carries them out, then the CMOS comes into play with the configuration instructions and your monitor is displaying this not knowing whether its upside down or hanging from the ceiling.
The CMOS instructions are held in memory by your MB battery.

Not until the kernel loads does it start to configure your monitor by which time its too late.
