OK as some of you know i use a car amp for my audio on my computer i mean it sounds alright but it makes my audio mono except for my subs....i primary use my computer for a home theater system in my room so i use it to watch movies and listening to music my mobo supports 5.1 surround sound
( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138122 )
so i thought about it and started looking around on eBay for a home theater 5.1 surround sound controller thing and some of them are kinda cheek like 30 bucks so i was wondering would it be worth the 30 bucks to upgrade my audio to 5.1 surround sound

well if that is your mobo (the link you posted) it doesn't have 6 channels, did you post the correct one???

It only has a line in, line out and a mic input (the motherboard link that was posted).

Onboard Audio
Audio Chipset Realtek ALC662
Audio Channels 6 Channels

thats what it says

yeah it does...

well you can see by this picture that it is the width for 6 channels

but by this picture it isn't

The photos are a bit small - have a look at them here

Can you pls post a picture of the back of your motherboard, then we know what you have got.

i got 3 ports but i can assign each of the ports but would 5.1 suround sound be worth the extra money

Yes, i love my surround sound, i have a good Creative sound card, and i have the Logitech X 540's, i love them, and really notice the difference :D

wait im confused if i dont use a home theater amp then how do i get my 5.1 suround speakers sound hooked up into my computer
